As a Sr. Advisory Trading Specialist, you will:

  • Provide trading support, specific to Baird's Advisory Trading team.
  • Offer high value service to internal and external clients in an environment that promotes Baird’s culture and the Operations mission and values statement.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations, Baird policies, and department procedures and policies. Monitor exception reports pertinent to the status of ongoing advisory trading activities; initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Manages and understands end-to-end trading processes including branch and client experience with the ability to identify and understand process gaps and related risks.  Demonstrated understanding of in-depth process / product knowledge.
  • Answer and/or initiate branch contact; offer technical assistance to Client Specialists, Financial Advisors, and others seeking information regarding advisory-related trading platforms, workflows, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide support to other Operations departments with projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in industry working groups to better understand industry processes and needs, influence beneficial decisions, and to build relationships and networking opportunities throughout the industry.
  • Assist in the design of methods to monitor data integrity and provide insights into workflow/process efficiency and investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to productivity, efficiency and effectiveness improvements to drive exceptional client service and risk mitigation.
  • Handle advanced stages of assigned tasks; cross-trained, knowledge of other functions within the team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • SIE and Series 99 or Series 7 within one year of hire.
  • Experience with functionality of managed account trading platforms (APL, UWP/Fiserv, Envestnet, Advent, Vestmark) a plus.
  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform advanced problem solving.
  • Ability to tolerate multiple assignments, work under pressure and within deadlines and produce accurate results.
  • Detail oriented with focus on accuracy.
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, monitor, and complete multiple tasks or projects, either independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must with the ability to effectively relate to work in a team-oriented setting.
  • Passion for providing high-value client service.
  • Ability to stay focused under pressure and to prioritize work in order to effectively manage time.
  • Proven reliability in attendance and performance.
