Many associates start and grow their career with Baird within the Corporate Resources Group. These dynamic, multi-faceted teams work diligently behind the scenes to ensure the best possible service to our clients. The CRG departments are based at Baird’s corporate headquarters in Milwaukee and support the business within the U.S. and globally.

Corporate Events and Conferences icon: toggle

The Corporate Events Department is a central source for planning and executing meetings, events and Baird conferences, staffed by professional meeting planners.  Working with all business units at Baird, Corporate Events contracts and manages events with 10 to 2,500 attendees depending on the event or type of program.  The team’s strong organizational skills and creativity result in professional events and conferences that enhance Baird’s brand and create a memorable experience for associates and clients.

Finance at Baird provides accurate and timely financial information to aid in the management of the firm and support strategic decision making. This department supports all business units globally in terms of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and financial analysis. Finance is also responsible for preparing a variety of regulatory and tax filings, processing compensation and vendor payments, and providing support to associates participating in Baird’s stock plans and private equity partnerships. The Finance team’s vision is to create a world class finance organization to support our businesses and shareholders.

Baird’s Human Resources team strategically partners with the business to drive human capital initiatives in alignment with the business strategies of the firm.  HR strives to achieve workplace excellence and provide exceptional support to Baird’s most valuable asset, our associates.  The team provides support and service in talent and organizational development, business partner and advisory work, benefits and compensation, talent acquisition and HR process and technology.  The work is guided by a relentless pursuit of expert education, a sincere care for the individual, and a passion for our culture.

Legal and Compliance icon: toggle

The Legal and Compliance Departments ensure that the firm and its associates adhere to the laws, regulations and ethical standards of the securities industry. There are a number of units in the Compliance Department which align with the PWM, Capital Markets and Investment Advisory businesses of the firm.  In addition, there is a Compliance Department unit for Regulation and Policy, Public Communications, Registrations, International Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering.  The Legal Department supports the firm in all aspects around the laws and legal requirements of our business.

Communication is the key function of Baird’s Marketing & Communications Department. Associates oversee and support Baird’s internal and external communications, marketing and branding activities. Our talented M&C associates work in the areas of advertising, digital communications, graphic design, marketing, project services, publications and public relations. The department ensures that Baird’s brand and key messages are best used to provide consistent information to our clients and the greater public.

Real Estate & Facilities Management is responsible for the timely start-up, smooth operation, and closing of all Baird offices. This important area manages our physical space and handles the flow of mail and supplies and throughout the business. The goal is to secure the best locations, negotiate the best deal possible, and provide the best work environment in the industry. We are responsible for providing office information such as rent & operating costs, capital costs, office capacity to various groups within Baird.

Risk Management assists in the development, maintenance and improvement of tactical and strategic risk management practices by utilizing a holistic view of Baird’s risk assessment, monitoring, mitigation and management activities throughout the firm. Internal Audit provides management with an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve Baird’s operations. This is achieved by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
