We are seeking a talented and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Fixed Income Capital Markets Business Analyst. This individual will be involved in both recurring and project based duties that span Finance, Operations, Compliance and Legal, Marketing and PR, Business Development and Client Services. The ideal candidate will have a strategic viewpoint and self-motivation to tackle multiple tasks at once.
As a Business Analyst, you may:
Analyze business trends, metrics, and results for the Fixed Income Sales & Trading and Public Finance businesses.
Prepares executive level presentations, receiving guidance from the leadership team.
Complete research on potential recruiting opportunities and prepares financial models. Analyze profitability by product line.
Perform month end reconciliations, prepares commission reports and payout summaries.
Provide ongoing support to the Sales & Trading team members with commissions and P&L variance issues and questions.
Assist in building and tracking the budget and managing expectations for many teams within the department.
Work closely with members of Baird’s Finance and Operations teams and other internal clients to ensure efficient operations.
Become the relationship contact between local office and Baird Real Estate (CREW) team for any and all real estate changes (i.e., new offices, expiring leases, etc.)
In collaboration with FICM Accounting Coordinator, ensure timely and accuracy in processing invoices, expense reports, receivables and performs deal reconciliations. Prepare deal summaries.
Business Continuity (BC) plan owner working directly with the BC team on a quarterly basis to maintain plan documents and provide appropriate testing along with communication during live ‘disasters’.
Track vendor spend, reports on it by product group.

What we look for:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
3-5 years of experience.
Advanced computer skills including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
Must obtain FINRA licenses SIE, 7, 50, 52, 63 within 2 years of start date and FINRA 24, 53, 54 within 4 years of start date.
Natural curiosity, self-driven motivation to learn and interest in the Fixed Income markets required.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. A high level of professionalism is mandatory.
Excellent grammar, editing and proofing skills required. Attention to detail and positive can-do attitude a must.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often under pressure and/or short deadlines.
Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion.
Ability to tolerate peak workloads, multiple assignments and produce results with accuracy and reliability.
Demonstrates a calm demeanor and retains composure in stressful situations.
Ability to initiate action and work independently on most tasks.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive project information.
