The Baird IT Operations team is looking for a highly professional, client service driven Senior IT Security Engineer to assist in the implementation and maintenance of IT security practices at a global financial services company, where security has become one of the top five initiatives for the firm. The qualified candidate will have proven experience in a Microsoft environment and passion to bring IT Security best practices to Baird. This position can be based in our downtown Milwaukee headquarters, Louisville or Madison West offices.

As a Senior IT Security Engineer, you will:

  • Partner with the business to design solutions that solve business needs in a secure fashion.

  • Contribute to teams or initiatives designed to improve Baird's IT Security control environment.

  • Assist in the evaluation and proof of concept of new technology tools.

  • Investigate and remediate security issues reported to the service desk

  • Complete security requests submitted to the team

  • Investigate and report on security-based alerts across multiple security tools.

  • Proven ability to pick up new concepts and skills and apply them to other IT security controls.

  • Assist with audits of the network and server infrastructure, desktop firewalls, anti-virus and other security related applications.

  • Seek out and apply new technologies and skills in daily work through conferences, online training, reading, participation in organizations and user groups, etc.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

What we look for:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience. 

  • Minimum of five years of prior security experience is required.

  • Expert knowledge of IT security concepts and technologies.

  • IT Security related certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP, Global Information Assurance Certification GIAC or applicable technical certification preferred Understanding of security concepts in a Microsoft Windows environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills—ability to effectively exchange ideas and information and effectively relate to others in order to accomplish work responsibilities.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

  • ·Experience with the some or all of the following technologies:

    o   Firewalls, such as Palo Alto, Checkpoint or Cisco

    o   IPS, such as Palo Alto, Cisco or Zscaler

    o   Security Event Monitoring, such as LogRhythm, QRadar, Splunk.

    o   Endpoint security, such as McAfee, Trend Micro, Carbon Black, Crowdstrike, Cisco Secure Endpoint

    o   DLP technologies, such as Proofpoint, McAfee, Symantec, Zscaler

    o   Cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure or GCP

    o   Cloud web filtering, such as Forcepoint, Zscaler, Symantec
