The Baird Advisors Client Services Specialist is a critical role requiring a skill set and aptitude to handle a broad set of responsibilities supporting Baird Advisors and the Baird Funds. This is an opportunity to join a fast paced, high performing team that is experiencing strong growth. The primary role is to support Baird Advisors in its interaction and communication with clients, prospects, and business partners. Tasks will include the support of new business development and client service efforts through ensuring proper maintenance and reporting to investment consultants, financial intermediaries and third-party databases on the fixed income strategies managed by our team. This role will support portfolio management and external client service team members using critical thinking and a high degree of accuracy.  Based in our Milwaukee office, this position requires someone who is open to a variety of tasks and willingness to contribute wherever needed to gain valuable experience and grow within the team. 

As a Client Services Specialist, you will:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of quantitative and qualitative information to the investment consultant community, keeping them updated on the firm and the team’s fixed income products on a monthly and quarterly basis ensuring consistency with other communications and materials.
  • Respond to specific search opportunities through the completion of recurring and ad hoc Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for investment consultants, financial intermediaries, and clients.
  • Work closely with investment and client services team personnel to learn the products in detail to help respond to client, consultant, and intermediary questions and to maintain an RFP response database. 
  • Edit and proof materials for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and statistical accuracy.
  • Help with preparation for annual Institutional Investors Conference and other conferences.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in a finance or client services role. 
  • Experience with a financial services firm, investments-related firm or an asset management firm is preferred.
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly master internal systems and applications. 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks to ensure that complex projects are completed by deadline, with interim review steps incorporated.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as the interpersonal skills to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team while completing work independently as needed.
  • Demonstrated initiative and good judgment as well as the ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints. 
  • Series 7 and 66 licensed or willingness to complete required licensing within the first year after hire.
