About our intern program:

Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Interns are treated as valuable team members while learning from experienced professionals in a collaborative, fun and dynamic environment. Baird's summer intern program activities include an Intern Welcome Event, professional development, networking with leaders and associates, and many other informal events. Our interns have the opportunity to use a Baird Cares Day, a paid day to volunteer in the community. They are also eligible to apply for scholarships. Our informal mentor program gives interns an opportunity to network throughout Baird and learn about all the areas of the firm.

Our Strategic Change Office Team:

The mission of the Strategic Change Office is to lead important projects across the firm, cultivate collaboration throughout all business units, build associate skills and capabilities, and foster a culture that embraces continuous improvement and change. This internal consulting opportunity supports projects large and small throughout the organization through the use project and change management methodologies.

Internship Location, Availability and Hours:

Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a student who can start in May 2022.

As a Strategic Change Office (SCO) Intern, you will:

  • Act as a project and change management internal consultant on various SCO work efforts

  • Attend project meetings to gain exposure to professional problem-solving conversations and working sessions for potentially firm-wide, cross-departmental challenges

  • Assist with process documentation, meeting prep and note taking, action item follow-up, and task management

  • Solve problems in an innovative and creative manner

  • Gain extensive experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to create final deliverables (may include Visio)

  • Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

What we look for:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications/PR, Finance, IT, Operations / Supply Chain or Liberal Arts & Sciences.  Targeting graduation dates of May 2023 or later

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis

  • Prior office experience a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred

  • Some financial market knowledge preferred
