Our HR team is growing! We are adding a Human Resources Communications Associate to our team at our corporate office in downtown Milwaukee. You will work closely with the Strategic Change Manager and HR subject matter experts. You’ll have the opportunity to develop, coordinate, and execute comprehensive, multi-channel internal communication plans for HR programs while ensuring alignment with the overall HR communication strategy. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams to generate ideas and content that educates influences and promotes new behaviors. The role is responsible for writing (as needed), editing, and/or reviewing all internal client communications while driving key messages and ensuring a consistent voice across the department.

As an HR Communications Associate, you will:
  • Work with HR Leadership and functional subject matter experts to establish and implement effective communication plans and tactics.
  • Work across all of the functional units in HR:
    • HR Change Management Team: HR overall messaging and change initiatives coordination
    • Total Rewards: Total Rewards statements, YE Compensation, Open Enrollment and Benefit and Well-being offerings
    • HR Operations / Technology/Reporting & Analytics: Workday efforts including the rollout of new modules and ongoing releases and operational updates
    • Talent Development: Learning and Development offerings, Performance@Baird
    • Talent Acquisition: TA messages including internship program information and marketing strategies
    • Business Partners: Cohesive messaging on all of the HR offerings to clients
    • HR Leadership: Internal HR initiatives and messaging
  • Responsible for the design, development and implementation of HR communications.
  • Creates and manages the HR communications calendar in conjunction with Marketing & Communications with a focus on optimal sequencing and receptivity of key messages to associates and leaders.
  • Creates edits and reviews all communications to ensure the consistency of tone and messages and most effective method.
  • Tracks communication effectiveness to discover and implement communication best practices.
  • Serves as HR Portal owner for the content development, master author providing consistency of message and style, governance, and content maintenance of the HR portal.
  • Provides guidance and support on communication best practices.

What we look for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in Benefits, Human Resources and professional services environment.
  • Strong written and strategic communications skills including planning, content development, editing and proofing.
  • Sound project management and organizational skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional marketing and communications team.
  • Creative thinker who embraces and supports change.
  • Strong relationship builder and influencer who is comfortable working with leaders at all levels.
